Manhattan Perfect Eyes Eyeshadow : Bronze Effects

Hey Guys... It's been quite some time that I actually got time to write a review,I have been very busy and finally I can write about this trio eyeshadow palette that I bought for only £1 (poundland.co.uk).
This is a bronze effect trio palette with amazing golden colours,it comes with a applicator which I lost somewhere.
What They Claim?
  • Long-lasting eyeshadow.
  • Innovative Soft Touch texture.
  • Apply dry for a discreet look, moist for intense impact.
  • No clumping in the eyelid crease.
  • Dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested.

The back really helps and provides a guideline for application but does not mean you can't experiment with the colours,I did!,but the language is in German so I couldn't follow the instructions clearly.
It comes with three eyeshadows with 1,2,3 engraved on them which really guides you when applying the eyeshadows.

The pencil was very harsh to the under-eye which is a very sensitive area,so it could have been a little softer for easier and pain-free application.

Weirdly when I applied the eyeshadow the bronze colours looked "green-ish" possibly because the colours combined together but overall I really liked the outcome and the softness of the colours, and for £1 including a eyeliner pencil is a bargain!

Pros:

  • Three different colours, very good for the price
  • Highly Pigmented
  • Comes in other colours such as pinks and blues.
Cons:
  • Cheap packaging which can easily break
  • Not very long-lasting without a good eye primer

Collection 2000 Smokey Eyes Palette

Today I thought I would give this eye-shadow palette a go,I bought this quite some time back but never actually got the time to use because it was either with someone else or just had others to try.
I love the idea of having all the basic eye-shadow to get a smoky look and a smoky look is what I usually prefer to wear as a daily eye make-up due to its subtleness.
This palette contain 8 single eye shadows which is categorised as medium, dark and light and also a cream, and also applicator which I've lost and also a "how-to-guide" ( which today I used to test its usefulness..see below to see the result)
Price: £4.19
bought from boots.co.uk

What others have to say about this product?
I love this as soon as I saw it on the website I knew I had to get it. When I saw it in the shop I literally grabbed it. I love the colours they are all so nice and compliment each other and also with the " how to use" guide on the back it's easy to do a smokey eye if you don't know already. It's so cheap, good quality, great colours and I'm definitely pleased with it :-) the only thing that isn't so great is the foam applicator that comes with it but I use a brush anyway so it doesn't matter
Most of these eye-shadow have some glitter in them but I love the pigmentation and the overall look it provides,I find that some of the shades work better on different people because some shades do not stand out as much as others do so I used all of the eye-shadows to achieve the look to get more pigmentation and see results.

Here was the finishing look when I tried to follow each step on the guide,I also damped my brush and then used it to apply the black shade as an subtle eye-liner.

Astor Perfect Stay Transferproof Lip Tint & Care

Astor Perfect Stay Transferproof Lip Tint & Care
Bought from: Poundland for £1
What does the product claim?
The new 2-step Perfect Stay Lip Tint & Balm offers weightless colour that won’t rub off or smear. The waterbased, non-sticky lip tint formula infuses lips with color while anti-dryness balm ensures extra-comfort with lips that are moisturized and glazed with a sophisticated shine. Lips look flawless and feel great – and they’ll stay that way throughout the day.
Color you don’t feel but it stays put day and night!

Comes with two steps on how to apply the lipstain
The marker style makes it easy to apply with but sometimes I find is that when applying it becomes a different combination of shades on the lips depending on the layering, for example some areas can be a lighter shade were as some areas are darker.
This is a great feature to have because sometime I find lip-stains to be very drying so having this balm hydrates the lip,but unfortunately this does not last.
Ive got the shade "Nude Plum" These come in a huge range of colours, unfortunately this colour does not suit me,it makes me look Gothic ( so if you prefer a Gothic look then this is great! ) also the orange one is called Tequilla Sunrise but to be honest this shade is not too apparent on the lips and does not last.
Pros:
  • Pen-precision applicator defines lips - mistake-free
  • Weightless fresh color that won’t rub-off nor smear
  • Comfortable to wear all day
  • Gives lips beautiful flush of color
  • Doesn’t transfer / Doesn’t rub off / Doesn’t smear
  • Lips feel hydrated all day
Cons:
  • wears off quite fast compared to other lip-stains
  • when drinking or eating it can cause the inner part of the lip to have no colour as it wears off..giving the lips odd look.
  • When I apply the stain I get a little "burning" sensation on the lips.
To be honest I'm not so pleased by this lip-stain because I love lip-stains for the reason being  I am extremely lazy and hate reapplying makeup and expect lip-stains to maintain the tint on my lips for several hours and this does not... however I have not yet found a drugstore stain that I can proudly say lasts for hours.

Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch

 What the Product Claim?
Wake up your skin with a healthy-looking glow! Rimmel introduces new Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch to give an instant boost of shimmering radiance. The lightweight mousse formula is ultra-blendable and gives a long-lasting, natural-looking flush of colour.Skin is illuminated and highlighted. It’s time to get glowing!
I only bought this product for £1 in poundland but you can purchase this for £4.99 in superdrugs. The packaging of the "WAKE ME UP" is what really grabs my attention and has become iconic,I feel a necessity to have the collection because the orange is truly attention grabbing and definitely suits the name.
I really love this pink colour (Radiant Rose) for winter to add a bit of colour to my washed out face.

The tube is very tiny but you only need a very small amount to make your cheeks blush! so I think the amount provided is reasonable for the amount you need.

This is all you need and to be honest this is quite a lot you probably will need only half of this.
This is what I really hate about the product, the fact that it contains so much glitter which makes your face look like you just had a glitter fight, however I really like the subtle hint of pink colour and the more you blend the cream blush the more natural it looks but then the you will be left with a lot of glitter.
 What others have to say?
I quite like this product as it's very light but gives a slight flush and a touch of sparkle to the face. I felt it was good value for money and the colours are very nice and wearable. It does however require a bit of blending to avoid having a line of colour on the face
I thought this was great - until I went out on a sunny day with my daughter. She asked me why I had glitter on my face. Imagine my horror when, on looking in my handbag mirror, I looked as if I had tipped a pot of glitter over my face. Awful. And the annoying thing is, I bought both shades!

Pros

  •  gorgeous pink shade
  • the creamy texture makes it blendable
Cons
  • lasting power is rubbish
  • Glitter sometimes is left behind making the face look too glittery
  • I don't think the colour will show up in darker skinned women
  • the range of available colours are limited.
TBH! if this products runs out I will not be keen to pay the full-price because I have better pigmented blush and I am not so fond of makeup that looks obvious on the face and the glitter will make it obvious and in summer it might make your face look glowy but yet again can be a bit extreme.

Sleek Makeup i-Divine Ultra Mattes DARKS PALETTE

I truly believe that sleek have the best range of eyeshadows palettes due to their huge range of colours and today I will be reviewing the sleek matte palette in the dark colours and the reason I love this one is because of the matte look which makes it wearable everywhere.
This can be bought in superdrugs.co.uk for only £7.99 which is amazing because you get 12 highly pigmented colours which is around 0.70p each colour.
What the product claims?
Sleek Makeup’s legendary i-Divines are 12 shades of high-quality, super-pigmented eyeshadow, suited to every skin tone.Ultra Mattes are intensely creamy, highly pigmented colours that are super- blendable. These mineral-based eyeshadows are so smooth in texture they are ideal for contouring eyes and creating multi-dimensional looks.

A palette of 12 pressed eyeshadows, the V1 Bright Ultra Mattes i- Divine contains 12 pure matte shades.
The packaging of the sleek palette is what I really find to resemble palettes in the high end but the mechanism could be a bit better manufactured because I have three different palettes and all my palette have a lid which is either fully open or loose, having a palette with no lid could be difficult because you then don’t have a mirror and also your eyeshadows are prone to cracking.

What others have to say about this palette?
This palette is great for acheiving smokey eyes with a difference, it doesn't always have to be greys, this palette offers greens, purples, berries and browns, very velvety colours, however, working with mattes is a lot harder than with shimmers, make sure you have a few good brushes an extra time to blend....GREAT, I put it on in the morning and it always stays on the whole day.

As you can see from above the eyeshadow are truly pigmented and amazing for experimenting for different effects, however it is very “powdery “so fallouts are possible and I am unable to comment about the lasting power because I always use a primer which makes it last for around 10 hours ( I never need to keep makeup on for more than 10 hrs)
The palette comes with this double ended applicator which I use to apply the eyeshadow onto the eyelid but I never use this for blending as I always use my real technique starter set for any eyeshadow application
Pros:

  • The packaging provides you with a wide mirror which is always useful
  • 12 lovely matte shades which are highly pigmented
  • Suitable for all skin tones
Cons:
  • The lid of the palette tends to come off or the screw becomes loose making it very flimsy

Sleek Oil Free Creme to Powder II UNDERRATED

Today I felt that I wanted to write about a foundation but was not sure which one, but then I thought that most people will write about foundations that are either new or something that everyone love and is hyped about in majority blogs however  I thought that maybe I should write about a foundation that is not that highly hyped about, when I first bought this foundation (Sleek Oil Free Crème to Powder Foundation) I was really confused on the application and so I done what most people done, I tried finding a YouTube tutorial however there wasn’t any. I then experimented to find a good way to apply this crème foundation in order to get good coverage and I think that the best way is using a damp sponge. I have extremely dry skin and when I saw that this was “oil-free “I assumed it will be mattifying but I was amazed that it did not cling on to my flakes however I found that although I had dry skin after few hours my face turned a little oily.

 What the product claims?
Full coverage smooth concealing foundation. Oil-free emulsion that transforms into a flawless and matte powder finish. Use professional sponge for ease of application. Apply the foundation all over the face to achieve a natural flawless look.

The packaging is quite good for travelling, it comes in a compact form with a nice useful mirror and under the crème foundation is a secret compartment with a standard sponge which I never use due to hygiene reasons.
I have the shade in “Calico” and I actually believe that this is the only shade that has ever matched my face quite near to perfect! I bought this from Superdrug’s long time ago but recently when I thought I will stock the foundation up I realised that the foundation shade was unavailable however there are many other shades and the thing that I love about Sleek is that they consider the darker shaded women!

 Where to buy:superdrugs.co.uk for £7.99
One thing I must complain about is the lasting power, I really don’t think this would last longer than 3-4 hours, this foundation is definitely buildable to a good coverage but because it turns from a crème to a powder the coverage can become lighter in texture, another thing about the texture is that because it is crème I found it very difficult to apply because of the thickness the only way I was able to was scraping the amount out of the compact and using a damp sponge to change the consistency a little thinner to be able to spread it out, in addition the crème also got very messy very quickly sometimes trapping dust and hair... eeeew.
I really love this foundation I wear it mostly at college because I’m very lazy for liquid foundations and I use it for light coverage, some people use this as a high coverage concealer which is also a good idea, if your are very fair I don’t think you will be able to find your shade.
